About
CONNECT, FOCUS, REFRESH.
The Emergency and Paediatrics Out West conference is conceived as a forum for clinicians working in emergency medicine and acute paediatrics to come together and discuss the latest concepts and developments in practice.
ePOW was founded in Western Australia (WA) with the aim of promoting collaboration and learning across specialties and borders, and to build networks in a collegiate environment.
The inaugural conference was held at the Lotte Arai Resort, Myoko. Based on the success of our first conference, ePOW 2026 will be held again at Lotte Arai.

Getting There
Tokyo to Lotte Arai
via Shinkansen
An easy way to get to Lotte Arai is by shinkansen (bullet train). From Tokyo, take the JR Hokuriku Line. The Shinkansen station signs are colored green so look out for these. The Myoko-Joetsu Shinkansen usually leaves from platforms 19 to 23. The trip takes just under 2 hours and cost approximately $95AUD one way.
A free shuttle bus service meets most trains at Joetsu Myoko station, which then takes around 20 minutes to drop you outside the Lotte Arai reception.
Shuttle Bus, Complimentary Transport | LOTTE ARAI RESORT
Transport around the valley
A quick and easy way to move between resorts and towns is via the local shuttle bus. This opens options for accommodation as rooms at the resort are filling fast.

Kids
My Name is Eve and I am 10. That is me in the pink beanie. My Mum is a doctor and my job is to organise activities for all the kids that come to the conference.
This will only be the second time I have seen the snow in actual real life. I would like this trip if some kids came along! I know kids whose parents are doctors living in the west so to the doctors who have kids, please consider signing up and bring your kids to the conference!
Entry Fee: Free!

Activities include karaoke, ski school, snow fort building and tobogganing.
